China Market Updates
China Removes Import Duties on Australian Wine
Wine Victoria welcomes the announcement that China has removed import duties on Australian bottled wine. This is positive news for the many Victorian wine businesses who have been impacted by the duties since they were introduced officially in 2021.
There has been a series of market briefings as the industry prepares for re-entry.
Stephanie Duboudin, CEO of Wine Victoria, and Jeffrey McCormack, TWE and Board Member of Wine Victoria, were in attendance at Trade Minister Farrell’s China market briefing at Penfolds Magill Estate in March.
Global Victoria hosted a China market briefing for the Victorian wine industry. Brett Stevens, Victorian Commissioner to Greater China, delivered the briefing to over 70 industry participants. The session covered Global Victoria’s plans to support producers at VinExpo Hong Kong in May and outlined how they can assist producers in China.
